City of Fulton news:
- The Friends of History in Fulton will host their twelfth annual Hunter Arms Homecoming on August 11 – 12 this year. Smith and Fulton gun collectors, and historians from around the country will gather together at both the Pathfinder Fish & Game Club and the Pratt House Museum for the event. See full story here.
- Lt. Charles Burlingham of the Fulton Police Department retired after 20 years of service to the city, the announcement made by Fulton Police Chief Mike Curtis. Burlingham’s retirement began on July 22. See full story here.
- The Fulton Sunrise Rotary recently held its annual Changing of the Guard Ceremony; the event celebrating the outgoing president and the installation of a new president. See full story here.
City of Oswego news:
- The Oswego High School Marching Buccaneers will lead the Harborfest 2023 Children’s Parade this year; the parade beginning at West Park at 10:30 a.m., and ending at Breitbeck Park with a performance of Peppa Pig on the Children’s Stage. See full story here.
- The City of Oswego Police Department is currently investigating a motor vehicle accident that happened on 7/21/2023, involving a privately owned electric scooter operated by a juvenile and a pickup truck. The accident occurred at the intersection of W 3rd St and W Albany St. in Oswego. See full story here.
- The City of Oswego will host their second annual “Oswego Family Fun Days” on Saturday, August 19 and Sunday, August 20 from noon to 6:00 p.m. each day. The free event will feature plenty of children’s activities, taking place in Breitbeck Park next to the city’s outdoor water splashpad, mini-golf course, basketball courts and snack shack. The United States Mint has revealed the design for the Dr. Mary Walker quarter as part of the 2024 American Women Quarters Program. Walker was an Oswego Town native, Civil War surgeon, women’s rights activist and abolitionist. She remains the only woman to have been awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. See full story here.

The Mexico’s Public Library, in cooperation with the Donald McFee Memorial Ambulance Service, held a children’s event at the Mexico Community Building on Wednesday, July 19. The event gave children the opportunity to familiarize themselves with emergency services, while also assembling their own first aid kit to take home. See full story here.
- The Pulaski-Boylston Snowmobile Club held one of the their weekly Classic Car/Truck Show’s on Monday, July 17; the group raising funds to support new snow equipment, snow removal and maintenance of the trails. See full story here.
