New Enhanced Licenses Available at County DMV Offices

Drivers can now obtain New York State’s enhanced driver’s license at Oswego County’s branch DMV offices in Oswego, Fulton and Pulaski. The enhanced driver’s license (EDL) will allow travelers to cross the U.S. border by land or sea into Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda without a passport, according to Oswego County Clerk George J. Williams.

Fulton Settles Debt To Police Force

The Fulton Common Council agreed Tuesday to transfer $106,000 from the contingency account to settle salary owed to Fulton police officers, who are now working under a new four-year labor agreement. Mayor Ronald Woodward said negotiations continue with the Fulton Firefighters Association, which is the last of the three major barganing units working with the city toward a new agreement.

City Seals Agreement To Review Code Compliance At New DPW Site

The city of Fulton is taking its first steps to make necessary renovations at the Department of Public Works’ new home on Edgarton Street. With consent of the Fulton Common Council, Barton & Loguidice will perform a comprehensive review of the site, looking for code deficiencies. Officials say the assessment is required before any upgrades at the facility will be reimbursable.

National Grid Bringing In Extra Crews To Boost Restoration Efforts

National Grid is bringing in extra crews from outside of Central New York this morning in an effort to restore power for those who are still without power from the storm that blew through the area early Monday. Restoration efforts were strong through the day Monday, however. Working around the clock, company employees managed to bring the number of customers without power down from approximately 100,000 customers to approximately 20,000.
