The stateÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s reported misuse of monthly cellular phone service fees has Oswego County legislators hot under the collar. Originally imposed as a way to fund wireless technology upgrades for 911 call centers, the state is reportedly using the money for a laundry list of expenses while counties see a fraction of the collections. Now, local lawmakers are drafting a letter to the state to take a stand on the issue and stress that it has used the account as its personal piggy bank for too long.

Police Expect Arrests In Drug Investigations

Eighty marijuana plants were seized Friday during a ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…â€œmarijuana eradicationÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â in Oswego and southern Jefferson counties. The joint investigation was conducted by the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, the Oswego Police Department and the U.S. Border Patrol. Police say several arrests are pending.

Drivers can now obtain New York StateÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s enhanced driverÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s license at Oswego CountyÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s branch DMV offices in Oswego, Fulton and Pulaski. The enhanced driverÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s license (EDL) will allow travelers to cross the U.S. border by land or sea into Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda without a passport, according to Oswego County Clerk George J.
