Shullick Jr. Wins Second ‘Classic’ In Less Than A Week

Ohio’s Dave Shullick Jr. continued on his impressive win streak on Saturday at Star Speedway when he took home his second career Classic win at the Epping bullring. Shullick had set out at the beginning of the race season with several goals in mind. To race some ISMA, to win the Oswego Speedway track championship and perhaps redeeming last year’s heartbreaking loss of the International Classic 200 with a lap to go by winning this year.

Fulton Speedway Going Exclusively DIRTcar 358 Modified Racing In 2018; Brewerton Speedway To Remain DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds

Fulton Speedway will return to its roots beginning in 2018 as DIRTcar 358 Modifieds will become the headline class at the speedway. The track hosted 358-modified racing exclusively from its dirt debut in 1979 until 2000 when Big Blocks became the headline division. Fulton Speedway will join Utica-Rome Speedway as Central New York DIRTcar 358-Modified race tracks. Big Block Racing will remain a weekly fixture at Brewerton Speedway.

‘Shoe 2’ Sweep: Shullick Wins Track Championship, International Classic in Same Season at Oswego

Simply put, it was just Dave Shullick Jr.’s year at Oswego Speedway. Two weeks removed from becoming the first Ohio track champion at the ‘Steel Palace’ since 1968, the second generation driver from North Ridgeville put the Shullick name in victory lane for the first time in the Budweiser International Classic 200, a race his father had gotten second in three times.

Billy Whittaker Class Of Fulton Speedway Modified Field; Tim Sears Jr. Wins Championship By Inches

The closest modified track championship at the Fulton Speedway anyone can remember went down Saturday night when Tim Sears, Jr. won his first ever Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified Track Championship by inches at the finish over Jimmy Phelps. In the 35-lap feature Billy Whittaker took the lead on 17 and outran a strong field of 28 cars for his first win of the season and fifth place finish in the final points.
