“Play On,” a three-act comedy by Rick Abbott, with Inez Manor Parker directing, will be mounted at the Church of the Resurrection as a fundraiser for the church and the Oswego Players.
The Church of the Resurrection and the Oswego Players will again co-produce a fundraiser for both organizations in late October.
Members of the Youth Group from St. James Episcopal Church, pictured, have been busy the past month collecting school supplies in support of the Stuff-A-Bus campaign.
Community Alliance Church’s youth AWANA program starts on Sept. 12. Youth entering kindergarten through 12th grade are welcome to attend.
St. Mary’s Church in Oswego recently finished up its third year of Vacation Bible School for young parishioners, friends, and community children.
A family driving by St. Louis Church when it collapsed Sunday escaped without any serious injuries. So did a Harborfest vendor who was in his vehicle in the church’s parking lot when the debris began to tumble. Officials say the collapse was probably caused by previous water damage over the last decade combined with the recent heavy rains.
Crews worked into the night and were able to successfully bring down the remaining portions of the vacant church. Early this morning, the debris was cleared from the roadway and State Route 104 was reopened to vehicular traffic.
East Bridge Street, near vacant St. Louis Church remains closed to traffic following the collapse of the building’s north wall late Sunday afternoon. The building collapsed as Harborfest was drawing to a close.
