Report Details Maxwell Investigations

</p>A 26-page report detailing Oswego County Department of Social Services’ investigations involving Erin Maxwell was made public Thursday afternoon. Originally prepared for Oswego County Legislature Chairman Barry Leemann, the report provided information about three separate investigations that were launched over a three-year span between 2003 and 2006. DSS Commissioner Frances Lanigan says that another investigation is underway.

Eleventh Anniversary Celebration At First United Church Of Fulton

On Sunday, October 5th, in the 11:00 AM worship hour, the First United Church of Fulton, 33 South Third Street, Fulton, will celebrate its eleventh anniversary as a united and uniting congregation.  First United Church formed, officially, in October of 1997 with the coming together of the former First Presbyterian Church and the former First Baptist Church.  Rev. David Nethercott also marks his eleventh year in ministry as the first called pastor of the united congregation.

Palermo Resident: County Department of Social Services Failed Erin Maxwell

As Salvatore Lanza, the attorney for the Maxwell family, addressed the community during a press conference Friday, he defended the Oswego County Department of Social Services on the family‘s behalf and stressed that the Maxwells do not hold the county responsible for the death of 11-year-old Erin Maxwell. Behind Lanza, a Palermo resident held a sign to say that he does.

Historic Preservation Rep To Discuss Congregational Church

Decisions on a zone change request that could usher in new business for the former First Congregational Church property have been delayed until next month. This evening, the city will host a meeting with a representative of the state’s historical preservation office to learn whether the church could be used as part of a new plan.
