Oswego County Health Department Will Hold Phone Bank for H1N1 Flu Appointments
The Oswego County Health Department will accept appointments for H1N1 flu vaccine from people who are in priority groups for receiving the vaccine. To make an appointment for an H1N1 flu vaccine, residents should call 349-8700 from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 12.
The Oswego County Health Department held its first seasonal flu clinic Sept. 21. The second was held Wednesday. Additional clinics will be scheduled for Swine Flu (H1N1) vaccination when the vaccine becomes available.
County lawmakers heard an update Tuesday regarding Bion Environmental Technologies proposal. If Bion’s slaughterhouse plan becomes a reality, it would bring more than 70,000 head of beef cattle into the county.
The invasive species looms as a significant threat to the Oswego River and other bodies of water – including Lake Ontario. It could cost the county a significant amount of lost tourism revenues if allowed to spread further.
