Tim Conners Begins Trek To Top of Mount Kilimanjaro

Today (May 26), some 7,556 miles from Fulton, Tim Conners will start his journey to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro at it’s peak height of 19,341 feet, the highest point on the African continent. Conners, a 22-year-old Fulton native, is climbing the mountain as part of his fundraiser mission, MounTimPossible to give back to organizations he says saved his life and to share his mantra to “redefine possible.”

Fulton Sixth Graders Write About Hometown Hero

Sixth graders across the Fulton City School District recently completed a mini unit on Medal of Honor recipients and they were surprised to learn that a native Fultonian earned that medal on June 6 1944. Carlton W. Barrett was born and raised in Fulton and joined the Army in 1940. On D-Day, he found himself on the beaches of Normandy, France, under withering fire in conditions reminiscent of the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan.

Second LWRP Public Meeting Allows Fulton Residents Continued Involvement

The Local Waterfront Revitalization Program aims to use Fulton’s abundant waterfront along the Oswego River and Lake Neatahwanta to attract visitors and residents as well as spur economic growth and water related commerce. Fulton Honors Veterans, Recognizes 2017 Veteran of the Year

The Fulton Veterans Council, headed by President Garry Visconti, led a well attended Veterans Day ceremony in the city of Fulton. Dozens of community residents, local elected officials, law enforcement, and veterans themselves braved the chilly winds off the Oswego River as they stood around the many flags that fly with pride at Veterans Park. The crowd then relocated to a local luncheon to recognize 2017 Veteran of the Year, Larry Macner.
