Plans Under Way For Fulton Community Thanksgiving Dinner

An organizing committee consisting of representatives of several Fulton churches and The Salvation Army is busy planning the 11th annual dinner. Financial donations are still needed for this year’s Community Thanksgiving Dinner to be held on November 24 at First United Church of Fulton, 33 S. Third St.

Fulton Honors Veterans, Recognizes 2017 Veteran of the Year

The Fulton Veterans Council, headed by President Garry Visconti, led a well attended Veterans Day ceremony in the city of Fulton. Dozens of community residents, local elected officials, law enforcement, and veterans themselves braved the chilly winds off the Oswego River as they stood around the many flags that fly with pride at Veterans Park. The crowd then relocated to a local luncheon to recognize 2017 Veteran of the Year, Larry Macner.

Fulton Speedway Races Past The $20,000 Mark Raised For Children’s Miracle Network, Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital

A few years ago former Fulton Speedway competitor Joe Buske, and his family came up with the idea to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network that is very near and dear to them. They chose the Fulton Speedway to put their idea in motion. Through the kindness and generosity of the great fans and race teams at the Fulton Speedway over the years, by the end of the 2016 racing season more than $20,000 has been raised for the Children’s Miracle Network.

Fulton Soldier Missing From Korean War Accounted For

The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency announced today (Oct. 28) that the remains of a U.S. serviceman, missing from the Korean War, have been identified and will be returned to his family for burial with full military honors. Army Cpl. Joseph Trepasso, 20, of Fulton, will be buried Nov. 5 in his hometown.

The Fulton Board of Education was honored during School Board Recognition Week which is observed each year by more than 700 school districts throughout New York State, according to a resolution passed at Tuesday’s regular meeting. Oswego Industries Dedicates Building to Betty Vaught Baasch

Oswego Industries is a private nonprofit that has served the developmentally and intellectually disabled population of Oswego County since its official beginning in 1968. Partnered with sister agency, ARC of Oswego County, together the two have established “a story of struggle, constant change, growth and courage in response to needs,” according to a historical overview of the agencies written by the late Elizabeth “Betty” Vaught Baasch, the founding executive director.
