At the city council meeting held November 4, Mayor Ron Woodward Sr. presented a proclamation declaring the 2015 Oswego County Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Fund Drive Season. Woodward and the council presented the proclamation to Major James Purvis and advisory board member and Christmas coordinator of Fulton, Nancy Close.
Eastern Shore Associates Insurance has expanded its Fulton office and added an additional 2,500 square feet of space at 100 Cayuga St.
Many Fulton community members stood alongside local veterans of all branches of service this Veterans Day (November 11) morning to recognize their services and express thankfulness for their sacrifices.
Fulton city clerk/chamberlain Daniel O’Brien headed the first 2016 general budget meeting for the city of Fulton alongside Mayor Ron Woodward Sr. and the rest of the city council Monday. The first look into the general numbers shows a proposed budget of 16.3 million dollars, an increase from this year’s 15.7 million dollar budget.
At the council meeting November 4, county legislator Frank Castiglia Jr. approached the board with some questions and concerns in regards to the demolition of the former Nestles property in Fulton. The city recently bid off the former Nestles property to be demolished and awarded the job to Infinity Enterprises to tear down the site for no cost to the city, only sole salvage rights to everything on the property.
Jennifer Smith, Jordan DiBlasi, Patricia Burdick, and Brittanie Rose are all new hires at Eastern Shore Associates Insurance, it was announced by Martha Murray, president.
While the 2015 election seemed uneventful for Fulton voters, the results are in for the contested races in city council and legislature. Mayor Ronald Woodward Sr. ran uncontested as did three incumbent council seats in the first ward, fourth ward and sixth ward. However, the second ward, third ward and fifth ward saw one incumbent and five all new candidates running for their council seat.
The U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division Band from Fort Drum and the Fulton Community Band will perform a free concert in honor of Veterans Day on Nov. 14, sponsored by the Fulton Music Association.
At a public hearing held October 20, the Fulton City Council announced the winning bid in the demolition of the former Nestles property. Infinity Enterprises submitted the winning bid, offering to do all the demolition work for no cost to the city, only salvage rights to everything on the property
Stacy Hurlbut, an account executive in the Public Entity Unit for Eastern Shore Associates Insurance, Fulton, recently earned the agency’s 2015 “Above and Beyond” award, it was announced by Martha Murray, agency president.
