Weather Notebook For March 14, 2011

Old Man Winter is still sputtering. According to Fulton’s weather observer, 1.0 inch of snow fell on March 12 with another 0.3-inch on the 13th. Total snowfall for March now stands at 5.0 inches.  Oswego received just a trace of snow on March 13. The monthly total stands at 4.0 inches and the winter season to 176.5 inches.

OCO’s Guardian Angel Finds Respite

The Pink Guardian Angel meets with residents at OCO’s respite home to learn more about OCO’s Respite Program and tour the only respite home in Oswego County. From left are Joshua, site supervisor Michelle Patchen and Nick.Oswego County Opportunities’ honorary Head Pin, the Pink Guardian Angel, learned about OCO’s Respite Program when it stopped by the agency’s respite home in Oswego.  The only one of its kind in Oswego County, OCO’s respite home was established in 2006 and is designed specifically to provide relief to caregivers of developmentally disabled children and adults.

Fulton Couple Arrested In Drug Investigation

Mark Grandazzo, of 405 Oneida St., Fulton, was arrested on March 11 at approximately 1:15 p.m., following an on-going drug investigation by the City of Fulton Police Department. Chrystal Recore, also residing at 405 Oneida St., was arrested during the execution of the search warrant. Police say she did knowingly conduct and maintain her residence where persons came and gathered for the purpose of engaging in the unlawful sale of controlled substances.

United Way Brings ‘Stone Soup Too’ Luncheon To Fulton

Committee members for the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s third annual ‘Stone Soup Too’ Luncheon meet to finalize details for the event. Absent are committee members Helen Hoefer, Jan Rebeor, Stephanie Langdon and Jonathan Gilmore.

With the need for food subsidy increasing and food pantries throughout Oswego County being hard pressed to meet the growing demand, the United Way of Greater Oswego County is doing its part to raise awareness of the food shortage in Oswego County and encourage the community to help fill the shelves of our area food pantries.
