Five Oswego County residents graduated from the Central New York Correctional Law Enforcement Academy today.

OHS Summer Grads Receive Diploma
Bruce Leone was presented his high school diploma by Superintendent of Schools Bill Crist (left) and Summer School Administrator Sean Fahey (right) and they were joined by the graduate’s mother Dorrie Goewey and father Bruce Leone. Leone along with several other Oswego High School students completed academic requirements during the summer. Other students who earned their high school diploma were Aaron Brasher, Hector Cirino, Christopher Emond, Stephanie Ketcham, Brandon Legates, Chelsea Taylor, Dillon White and Alex Stein.

APW Senior Awards Banquet Held
Altmar-Parish-Williamstown High School held their Senior Awards Banquet recently where more than $360,000 in scholarships and awards were distributed to graduating seniors at the school. The banquet was held at Castaways in Brewerton where the following students received these awards:

BOCES Medical Assisting And Dental Assisting Graduation Ceremony
Oswego County BOCES Adult Education department held a joint graduation ceremony recently for Medical Assisting and Dental Assisting students. Family, friends, staff, community and BOCES board members gathered for the ceremony, presenting pins and diplomas honoring the 13 graduates.

State Education Department: Graduation Rates Show Improvement
UPDATED: The New York State Education Department reports that statewide four-year graduation rates are up from where they were two years ago. In Fulton, four-year graduation rates were below the statewide average for the group of students who graduated in 2007. Five of nine school districts in Oswego County saw graduation rates above the state average.
