Oswego State Women’s Hockey Falls Short In 5-2 Loss To Hamilton

Hamilton notched three power play goals as the Continentals handed the Oswego State women’s ice hockey team a 5-2 loss on Wednesday night at the Campus Center Ice Arena. Abby Runyon and Stephanie Miguel tallied two goals each for Hamilton, which improved to 9-8-3 overall. The Lakers, who fell to 7-13-1 on the season, will travel to Elmira for a weekend series starting on Saturday at 7 p.m.

OHS Wrestler Pins Down Crown

Shane Bartrum captured the Class AA 189 crown on the mat during the weekend while the number one hockey team in the state was nearly upset by the Bucs and the girls’ basketball and boys’ bowling teams swept their foes. Meanwhile, the boys’ varsity cagers lost and the girls’ jayvee five picked up a nail-biting win.

And, the eighth grade girls’ basketball team continues its winning ways and the modified wrestlers showed heart in their latest matches.

Oswego Men’s Club Hockey Team Comes Close

The Oswego State Mens Club Hockey team hosted rival Cortland recently and fell just short of defeating the Red Dragons at the Campus Center Ice Arena. Falling behind 2-0, the Lakers battled back to come within 1 goal but, even with the Laker goalie being pulled, couldn’t put the puck in the net for the tie.

Oswego Lakers and the Blueline Club Join With American Red Cross to Assist in Efforts for Haitian Survivors

Buy a 50/50 raffle ticket during Oswego State Hockey Alumni Weekend and the Lakers Blueline club will donate their proceeds to the local chapter of the American Red Cross. “We always look forward to Hockey Alumni Weekend,” said Lakers head coach Ed Gosek. “It’s great motivation for our current team to have former players and teammates in the house and nice to catch up with them and their families over the course of the weekend. This year it will be even more special as our booster club has promised to turn over the proceeds from their nightly 50/50 raffle to the local chapter of the Red Cross.”
