Entergy’s James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant has achieved a site record for the most days of continuously producing electricity. FitzPatrick reached 702 days of safe, continuous operation today, Sept. 12, just prior to a safe shutdown to start the station’s 19th refueling outage.
The updated study would look at cancer rates around the Nine Mile Point nuclear plants, as well as cancer rates at every other nuclear facility in the country.
Nine Mile Point 1 nuclear power plant shut down safely Monday because of a balky system to circulate water in the nuclear plant’s reactor.
The safety of the reactor was never in question, according to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
