OCO Senior Nutrition Services Teams With Grist Mill To Help Feed Seniors

MaryLou Guindon, center manager with Oswego County Opportunities’ Senior Nutrition Services meets with Dave Chapman of the Grist Mill Restaurant of Parish to discuss OCO’s new restaurant coupon program.

Thanks to a partnership between Oswego County Opportunities’ Senior Nutrition Services and the Grist Mill Restaurant in Parish, Oswego County residents, age 60 and over, are now able to enjoy a nutritious meal in the friendly environment of the Grist Mill Restaurant.

REACH CNY, OCO Host Baby Shower

Mothers and expectant mothers in OCO’s WIC program were recently the special guests at a Community Baby Shower. Seated from left are, Crystal w/ Taylor, Candace w/ Ellie, and Jenna. Seated on the floor is Kim Kelley, CLC with OCO’s WIC program.

Facilitated by Kathleen Hayden of REACH CNY, the shower featured an enlightening presentation regarding the expectations of motherhood and the benefits of breastfeeding. Kim Kelley, certified lactation counselor with OCO’s WIC program, said that the event was a perfect compliment to the efforts of the program’s peer counselors.

Oswego County Opportunities’ Youth Drop-In Center in Mexico offers youth a variety of things to do, all in a safe, relaxed environment. Located in the Wilcox Center at Spring and Church streets, the center is open Tuesdays from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. during the school year and 2 to 5 p.m. during the summer.
