New State Budget Proposal Due Today; Deep Cuts Likely

The Governor’s budget proposes to cut municipal aid to every village, town and city in Oswego County by 5%.  The cut to the city of Fulton would eliminate more than $88,000, while the cut to the city of Oswego would take away more than $133,000.

School aid would also be cut by 5%, though there is no breakout by individual districts to indicate whether the cut is across-the-board or whether some districts will take steeper cuts than others.

Fulton Schools Begins Budget Process

On Tuesday evening, January 5, 2010, the Fulton City School District Budget Committee met to begin the development of the district’s 2010-11 school district budget.

The district Budget Committee is comprised of the Board of Education members, Superintendent of Schools, central office and building administrators and three community members.

Fulton Schools Construction Project Moving On Schedule

Hannibal School Board Discusses Setting Up Budget Committee To Blend Board, Community

“I think the community would appreciate a closer look at the budget process,” said board member Matt Henderson.
