OCAY League Designs Distinctive Competition

</p>First place in the second OCAY League competition and winning the gold medal was the team from Mexico High School. Think Project Runway meets Junkyard Wars and you would have a general idea of the latest Oswego County Academic Youth (OCAY) League competition. Teams from each of the nine Oswego County school districts converged on the SUNY Oswego campus for a unique competition that brought together “fashion designers with a reuse and recycle attitude.”

Maroun Elementary Students Learn About Cooperation

</p>Michael A. Maroun Elementary second-grader Danielle LeFebvre is all smiles as K-2 Principal Mary Stanton recognizes her during a recent character trait assembly as one of the students who shows cooperation while riding on her school bus.

Cooperation: To work together, help others willingly, agree and follow direction… It’s the right way for students at Michael A. Maroun Elementary School in Phoenix. Throughout the school year, K-2 Elementary Principal Mary Stanton presents an assembly on the character trait of the month to bring home the message of good strong moral character which helps instill good behavior in school and good citizenship in the community.

FJHS Students Recognize Positive Influence of Staff Members

As part of the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) initiative at Fulton Junior High School, students take time each week to recognize staff members for creating a positive school environment and going the extra mile to support student success. Staff members are presented with the rewards so that they can see the notes the students write to them.
