At its meeting this week, the Oswego Board of Education voted not to approve the agreement with Tequipment Incorporated for Smart Table professional development. The board had recently approved accepting grant funds for the project, but not the actual equipment purchase. “If we said no them that is what it means. No doesn’t mean yes,†said board president Dave White.
The Oswego varsity boys soccer team traveled to Corcoran on Wednesday evening and came away on the short end of a 4-0 score.
James F. Scaccia,74, of Vero Beach FL, died Sunday September 5, after a short illness.
Evelyn L. McDonald, 80, of Volney passed away suddenly on September 6, 2010.
Louis E. Wallace, Jr., 69, of Hannibal passed away Monday at home.
The budget cuts enacted earlier this year in Hannibal became real Wednesday when school opened for another year. The changes forced on the district caused complaints when people saw what those cuts meant.
The problem areas included a French class taught via distance learning and the half-day closing of the libraries in the Kenney Middle School and Fairley Elementary School.
Oswego County Opportunities recently presented staff of the agency’s Children’s Services Department with a longevity award for 5 years of service.
