The Oswego DAWN, the SUNY Oswego Department of Political Science, the Political Science Club and the College Democrats are sponsoring a public informational forum on the upcoming referendum on a NYS Constitutional Convention. The event will be held on September 28 at 6:30 p.m. at SUNY Oswego’s Marano Campus Center, Room 114.

At Monday night’s Physical Services Committee, Third Ward Councilor Nathan Emmons requested consideration from the Common Council to approve a revision to Article V of Chapter 224 of the code of the city of Oswego. Currently, it establishes the period of redemption of residential and farm property to expire four years after the lien date. Emmons’ proposed local law would reduce the time down to two years
Today (September 18), Guiding Eyes for the Blind welcomed the September 2017 class of graduates, a group of 17 individuals paired with exceptionally trained guide dogs. Among this month’s graduates is Ross Rupert, a resident of Oswego, who traveled to the Guiding Eyes headquarters for Residential Training with his guide dog, Sparky.
A traffic pattern change is anticipated for a portion of State Route 481 in Fulton on Tuesday, September 19. Traffic will be lessened to one lane in both directions in the area near the former Nestle site to allow for completion of demolition. City officials are warning travelers of this route to be aware of the lane reduction and prepare for any traffic delays that may result.
On September 15, investigators charged 36-year-old, Daniel Pyne Jr., from Oswego with one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and eight counts of Criminal Contempt 2nd degree, both class “A” misdemeanors. The charges stem from allegations that Mr. Pyne was using a third party to correspond with written letters to a protected party of a duly served order of protection.
The Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, through the Oswego County Traffic Safety Board today (Sept. 18) announced that free child car seat inspections are available to parents and caregivers during weeks September 18 – 30 in Oswego County.
