Mayor Barlow Announces Partnership With Verizon To Boost Service In Oswego

Mayor Billy Barlow announced today the City of Oswego has negotiated with Small Wireless Bell Atlantic Mobile Systems, LLC, operating as Verizon, for the installation of several 5G ‘small cells’ and ‘distributed antenna systems’ throughout the City of Oswego, thereby improving cell coverage for all residents, businesses, and visitors to the City of Oswego. The Master License Agreement grants Verizon a nonexclusive license to access, use, and occupy the City’s rights of way to install small cell facilities throughout the City.  The small cell facilities will bring 5G capability to a wide range of mobile device users.

OCO’s SAF Program Recognizes Oswego County Probation Department During National Crime Victims’ Rights Week

Last week, communities and victim service providers across the country recognized National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. The events and campaigns held during the week of April 23 through the 29 promoted victims’ rights and honored crime victims and those who advocate on their behalf. This year’s theme of “Survivor Voices: Elevate. Engage. Affect Change,” encouraged individuals to elevate the voices of survivors in order to build community trust so victims are not afraid or reluctant to participate in the criminal justice system.

Girl Scouts Of NYPENN Pathways Honors Area Volunteers

In April, the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways Council recognized the thousands of adult volunteers who give their time and dedication to Girl Scouting in celebration of National Volunteer Appreciation Month. Each year, the council, girls, troops, families and community find special ways to thank their local volunteers throughout the month. Volunteers are also celebrated on April 22, Girl Scout Leader’s Day, a national recognition date to honor volunteers who work as troop leaders and mentor Girl Scouts.
