Assembly Majority Blocks Transportation Bills

The Assembly Transportation Committee blocked 11 Minority-backed bills today, which included proposals to keep ride-hailers safe from sex offenders, restore the name of the Tappan Zee Bridge, and reduce costs for commuters and farmers. Also included in the Minority Conference proposals are measures that would honor Gold Star Families, Eagle Scouts and Girl Scouts and make it easier to become a bone marrow donor.

Community Wellness Partner’s To Affiliate With The St. Luke Family Of Caring

The St. Luke Family of Caring (an affiliation of St. Luke Health Services, Bishop’s Commons and St. Francis Commons) in Oswego, NY along with Community Wellness Partners, (an affiliation of LutheranCare in Clinton, NY and Presbyterian Homes & Services in New Hartford, NY) is excited to announce an intent to affiliate. Together, the multi campus, multi-level service providers plan to fully affiliate once the legal components of the agreement have been completed, which are anticipated to happen within the next few months.

 David LaVoie Receives OCO Wilcox Award As Volunteer Of The Year

Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) recently honored Head Start volunteer David LaVoie with the agency’s prestigious Howard Wilcox Volunteer of the Year Award. Established in memory of a very special OCO volunteer, the Howard Wilcox Volunteer of the Year Award is presented annually to a volunteer that goes above and beyond in offering their time and talents to an OCO program.
