After a year of showcasing their educational accomplishments, students at Sandy Creek Elementary School recently took to the field to demonstrate how to properly have fun during their annual Fun Day.

Principal Heather Perry expressed her pride in the sixth graders, whom she has known since she became the Granby principal in 2008 when the kids were kindergartners.

Oswego County STOP-DWI Coordinator Robert Lighthall announced that Oswego County police agencies will participate in a special enforcement effort to crackdown on impaired driving. The statewide STOP-DWI Crackdown efforts start on July 3 and will end on July 6.

Lanigan Elementary distributed many awards at its sixth grade promotion ceremony. In recognition of hard work, dedication and success, the NYS Comptroller Achievement Award was given to Katie Galletta and Sam May.

The seniors of Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District were awarded more than $700,000 in scholarships at their annual senior awards banquet. One new scholarship presented this year was from the district’s new superintendent, Anita Murphy.

Staff at St. Luke Health Services in Oswego recently pitched-in to support the Oswego Animal Shelter. By donating an item to the Animal Shelter to use in the care of dog or cats, employees were able to “dress casually” for the day.
