The Phoenix High School Instrumental Music Program participated in the Darien Lake Festival of Music this year.

Students enrolled in career and technical education programs at CiTi who earned at least a 90 in their CTE class during the fourth marking period were named to the CiTi CTE honor roll by Principal Marla Berlin.

As Emerson J. Dillon eighth-graders prepare to make the transition to high school, their teachers and administrators recently took time to recognize them for their accomplishments. Hundreds of awards were presented during a morning assembly in the school cafeteria.

During a recent pre-kindergarten “sail-a-bration” ceremony, students showcased all they learned throughout the 2014-15 school year before a room full of proud family members and friends.

Mexico Academy and Central Schools has started a Summer Food Service Program that will include a free lunch at the Mexico High School cafeteria for children up to 18 years of age until August 21. The meal must be consumed on site and will also be available to children with special needs up to 21 years of age.

This summer the Oswego Children’s Theater’s will present a show about the meaning of family with their latest production, of “Disney’s 101 Dalmatians, Kids,” a theatre experience about what it means to be a family. Canine and courageous, the show is an upside-down vision of the world: seeing life from a dog’s point of view.

Port City Faith in Oswego will host a fundraising banquet for world missions on July 10 at 6:30 p.m. at 436 W. Fifth St.

The screening will take place on July 14 at the State Street United Methodist Church, 357 State St. in Fulton, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The bone density screening is open to the public and free of charge.

July 29 is the pre-registration date for students interested in competing in the New York State FFA Welding Contest at the 2015 Empire Farm Days at Rodman Lott and Son Farms in Seneca Falls.
