It’s getting into the dog days of summer, even earlier than usual this year. We usually start warning about this in June, but here it is Memorial Day weekend with temperatures in the 90s! We know our readers would never leave their dog(s) in a car because they are aware of the dangers of overheating and death.
The New Vision Allied Health classes at the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation recently impressed the Oswego County Legislature’s Health Committee members with their presentation of research, statistics and outreach efforts regarding youth substance abuse.
On June 26 at 2 p.m., Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center will host Dr. Janet Mihuc of Paul Smith’s College as she introduces and explains Project Silkmoth, a citizen science program.
The evening began with delightful songs performed by the Middle School Chorus, opening with the traditional “Cantate Canon,” before performing the pop song “True Colors,” which featured soloists Emily Ward and Aden Goodnough.
On June 5 from 2-4 p.m., the CNY Arts Center will be hosting its quarterly Authors Spotlight series which features local authors. The event will feature suspense novelist Stan Wilczek Jr. alongside with mystery author Frankie Y. Bailey.
To date Senator Ritchie’s free tire recycling events, which are made possible through special funding she secured, have been successful in recycling to nearly 60,000 waste tires throughout Central and Northern New York since 2013.
To kick off this year’s exhibit, young artists and their families were welcomed to an opening reception, where they had an opportunity to explore student masterpieces and engage in conversation with art teachers.
