The Oswego High School class of 1966 reunion committee is busy planning its 50th reunion. We are looking for members of this class who may not yet be aware of the reunion and the dates.
SUNY Oswego will begin offering a new minor in graphic design this fall, providing the tools for visual communication, visual literacy and problem solving to students in disciplines across campus.
“These skill sets are increasingly valuable across a number of government and industry sectors,” said art department chair Cynthia Clabough.
Fairgrieve Elementary School sixth-grade students were recently surprised and honored to learn their submitted writing pieces were performed during an Echoes program at G. Ray Bodley High School.
National Grid has signed on as a Making a Difference sponsor for Oswego County Opportunities’ ‘Fifty & Fabulous’ Bowl-A-Fun with a donation of $2,500. “We greatly appreciate this generous donation and our continued partnership with National Grid,” said Diane Cooper-Currier, OCO executive director.
Directed by veteran Player Rick Sivers, the play will be presented on the stage of the Frances Marion Brown Theater in the Oswego Civic Arts Center the first two weekends in May. Cast members are composed of both individuals familiar to Oswego audiences and a number of newcomers to the stage.
Meghan Yost, a resident of Mexico, who is majoring in History and Political Science, has been inducted into the Heidelberg University Honor Society, the university’s only all-scholastic honor society.
Friendly competition is on at Fairgrieve Elementary School to see which children’s book is the top favorite to receive the coveted Charlotte Award. Library media specialist Barb Senecal read 10 books to each student in younger grade levels before they voted on their favorite story.
The Pulaski Historical Society begins this year’s series of Brown Bag Lunches on April 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. You are invited to bring your lunch (or pick up some take-out at a local eatery) and come join us in the Carriage House at the Pulaski Historical Society.
The Oswego County Historical Society will host its 29th Annual “Not So Silent Auction” fundraiser on April 8 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center, 26 E. First St., Oswego.
