Exchange Student Hopes to Bring Girl Scouts Back to Her Country

Exchange student Zhanerke Abayeva with Girl Scouts Community Development Manager Judi Knowlton.Zhanerke Abayeva, 17, from Kazakhstan is an average teenager. She likes to have fun, hang out with her friends and she is very proud of her country. She is also an exchange student and a senior at John C. Birdlebough High School in Phoenix.

Freewill Dinner October 24 at Minetto United Methodist Church

The Nurture & Care Committee of the Minetto United Methodist Church will host a freewill dinner on Sunday, October 24, serving from 4:30 to 6:30 P.M. The menu will be chicken and biscuits, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and dessert. Donations are not expected but will be accepted.

Fulton Sunrise Rotarians Meet Exchange Student

At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Mike Schroeder introduced Szu-Yu-Fu (Katelyn) an exchange student from Taipei, Taiwan, who is sponsored by both Fulton Rotary clubs.  Katelynn is here for the 2010-2011 school year and is staying with host parents,  Alan and Marcia Warren.  The Fulton Sunrise Rotary meets every Friday at 7 AM at Fulton's Riverside  Inn.At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Mike Schroeder introduced Szu-Yu-Fu (Katelyn) an exchange student from Taipei, Taiwan, who is sponsored by both Fulton Rotary clubs.

Fulton Rotarians Hear About New Voting Machines

Dick Atkins, Democratic Commissioner of Elections, right, gave an interesting and timely presentation about the new voting machine, the Optical Scan Voting System. State mandated under ERMA (Election Reform & Modernization Act) these new machines are easy to use , have a paper trail and are ADA compliant. Most of the lever machines were old and antiquated with parts not readily available. Oswego County has worked very hard to provide voters the right, state-of-the-art, secure voting system to ensure votes are accurately counted. Pictured with Atkins is Rotarian Dan Farfaglia.
