Oswego State Downtown Gallery To Feature Horse-Driven Imagery

</p>"Equine Photography by Carien Schippers," opening Oct. 9 at Oswego State Downtown, features Schippers' photographs of horse drives in America and England. Large-scale images like "Silhouette" can be seen through Nov. 30 at the college's shop and gallery on the corner of West First and Bridge streets in downtown Oswego. The display will feature large-scale photographs of horse drives as well as the cowboys who regularly herd the animals to distant locations. It reflects Schippers’ lifetime interest in the horse subject and her desire to capture their spirit and beauty while pursuing fresh, unique and creative perspectives.

SUNY Oswego Guitar Symposium To Offer Concerts, Workshops

</p>SUNY Oswego's Guitar Symposium, Nov. 8 and 9 at the lakeside campus, will feature concerts and intimate workshops with top genre guitarists. Headliners include Jeff Linsky, whom the Los Angeles Times called "the finest finger-style guitarist you will ever see or hear." For more information, visit www.oswego.edu/guitar.

The Guitar Symposium will incorporate classical finger style, funk, fusion and traditional, Brazilian and gypsy jazz into its workshops, master classes and performances. Artists doubling as instructors will include Jeff Linksy, Oz Noy, Peter Bernstein and Frank Vignola. The symposium will feature a concert by the Brasil Guitar Duo.
