Have you ever spent time in a nursing home? Perhaps you were there for rehab or perhaps you have a loved one who lived in one. If so, you know that they can be difficult to get used to. Did you know there is a volunteer program designed to help ensure residents of nursing homes have the best quality of life possible? It’s called the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program.
The Oswego City School District this week saw the reintroduction of the D.A.R.E. program for students with the goal of teaching young people to lead safe, responsible and drug-free lives.

The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau expects to receive limited funding for youth development programs in 2018. Not-for-profit organizations have until Friday, Oct. 13, to apply for the grant funds, which are allocated through the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.
