The following students graduated from Le Moyne College on May 21, on the college’s campus. Approximately 600 members of the class of 2017 participated in the 67th commencement ceremony.
Karen Murray, Executive Director of Bishop’s Commons at St. Luke in Oswego has received the 2017 Carl S. Young Advocacy Award from LeadingAge New York. It is given to an active LeadingAge New York member who has demonstrated exceptional advocacy and leadership on behalf of aging services, commitment to advancing the association’s legislative goals and actively encourages others to advocate for the elderly.
The Pulaski Historical Society will hold the next in this year’s series of Brown Bag Lunches on Aug. 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meeting is free and open to the public. You are invited to bring your lunch (or pick up some take-out at a local eatery) and come join us in the Carriage House at the Pulaski Historical Society.
Thirteen Central New York not-for-profit organizations, a large percentage of which are based in Oswego County, received grants from the Richard S. Shineman Foundation in its second grant round of 2017 at its July board meeting.
The Center for Wound Healing at Oswego Health officially opened July 19 with an open house and ribbon cutting. The center provides a multi-specialty team that includes a board-certified physician and nurses who possess extensive knowledge in wound care management.
Signing up for camp, kids look forward to many stimulating activities during the day in the areas of sports, arts and crafts, team building, swimming and nature. Campers leave Camp Hollis with are new friendships, legends and stories, as well as an overall positive and accepting environment where kids can be kids.
The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County, including preventive health services, certified hospice, and a maternal and child health program.
The Oswego Sunrise Rotary Club recently welcomed Karen Ferguson, director for the Oswego Health Foundation. Ferguson discussed what the Oswego Health Foundation does and how it supports its mission
