The residents and staff of Springside at Seneca Hill, Oswego Health’s premier retirement community, are enjoying their fragrant blooming wisteria vine that grows over an attractive pergola. “This year the wisteria is particularly pretty, I’m told,” said Jason Santiago, Oswego Health vice president and chief operating officer of Springside and The Manor at Seneca Hill.
The 5th annual Kingsford Park School Triathlon was held on June 2 at Oswego Middle School and included a 100m fun run for children in kindergarten and pre-K. Medals were presented to the top three in each heat.

The colorful opening ceremony June 13 for the seventh annual GENIUS Olympiad at SUNY Oswego will feature smooth jazz saxophonist Marcus Anderson along with public viewing of environmentally themed projects entered by high school competitors from around the world. A record 1,100 students and their mentors will display and explain their work from 5 to 7:30 p.m. June 13, in Marano Campus Center arena.
Due the rainy weather that occurred during May’s scheduled Bird Song Saunter, the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center has rescheduled the program. On June 15 at 7 p.m. (rain date, June 16), delight in an evening concert along woodland trails of the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center.
Granby Elementary Parent Teacher Organization will host its first 3K color run on June 17. Registration starts at 11 a.m., event starts at 1 p.m. Color runs are a popular community event and the Granby PTG encourages students to participate and also invite others to join in the fun.
Music filled the Paul V. Moore High School Auditorium recently as the Central Square Middle School band and chorus presented a medley of songs.
Vona’s Restaurant will provide the next Salvation Army Guest Chef Dinner on June 13 at the Worship and Service Center, 73 W. Second St. The staff of the restaurant will prepare chicken Parmesan over pasta. It will be served with tossed salad, bread, assorted desserts and beverages.
The Riverside Artisans Cooperative will hold drawings for door prizes throughout the day during its grand opening celebration form 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 3. Gift baskets of selected item from the artists and special hand-made clocks will highlight the drawings.
