Oswego City County Youth Bureau To Host Kids Community Yard Sale June 17

On Saturday, June 17, 2023, the Oswego City County Youth Bureau will be hosting a “kids community yard sale”.  This will be held at Breitbeck park from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.  Kids will be keeping all their proceeds to teach them the value of a dollar. There are over 45 tables of items that will be for sale along with baked goods and lemonade for sale.  Oswego Rotary will be there selling bottled water and popcorn along with free bike and scooter raffles.

Reality Check Hosts World No Tobacco Day Clean-up In Oswego

World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) is recognized every year on May 31. It’s a day of awareness calling attention to the harmful impact tobacco use has had on our communities. For WNTD this year, Tobacco-Free CNY, Oswego Middle School Reality Check and Oswego Prevention Coalition’s YC3 group will be partnering to conduct a cigarette butt cleanup. This event will take place at Breitbeck Park in downtown Oswego, Wednesday, May 31. WNTD’s theme this year is centered on the negative impact tobacco farming has on society and on the environment.

Mayor Barlow Recognizes Oswego Police Officers For Recent Heroic Actions

Mayor Billy Barlow announced today five Oswego police officers are being recognized for their heroic actions while on-duty in the city of Oswego recently. Officer Brady Slimmer and Officer Scott Verburg were issued the “Life Saving Award” by Mayor Barlow and Chief of Police Phil Cady while Officer Travis Dunn, Officer Stephen Weber, and Officer Joshua Martin received the City of Oswego Mayoral Commendation recognition.

Graduating High School Seniors Honored By Oswego Rotary Club

The Oswego Rotary Club continues its long tradition of presenting scholarships to four outstanding 2023 graduates of the Oswego City School District. The action marked the 96th anniversary of the club’s founding and continued its collaboration with the Richard S. Shineman Foundation and Pathfinder Bank, whose financial contributions help support the awards.
