Fire Damages Oswego Town Home
The homeowner reportedly suffered burns getting out of the house. The fire was reported at the home, located at the corner of Johnson Road (County Route 7) and the Gardenier Road, around 1 p.m.

College Aims To Erase Hate
The number of reports of hate crimes has jumped slightly at SUNY Oswego in recent years. That shows people are no longer looking the other way when these incidents occur, according to a University Police official. The college welcomes and encourages diversity and has a zero tolerance for hate crimes, they added.

One of their concerns is the way the chamber is handling the weekly farmers’ market during the summer. The merchants need to have a larger voice in how things are being done, they said.
