Armed Robbery attempted at the OTB – Phoenix

The State Police in Fulton are requesting the public’s assistant with an investigation into an armed robbery attempt that occurred early Sunday morning. At approximately 1 a.m. on 3/6/16, a male subject entered the parking lot of the OTB. The suspect had what appeared to be a black colored, semi-automatic handgun, and demanded money from an employee.

Oswego County Bicentennial Commemoration Scheduled March 10

The Oswego County Legislature will celebrate the 200th anniversary of Oswego County at its meeting at 2 p.m. today (March 10) in the Legislative Chambers of the County Office Building, 46 E. Bridge St., Oswego. Oswego County was formed in March 1816 out of portions of Onondaga and Oneida counties. Legislator Shawn Doyle, chair of the Oswego County Bicentennial Committee, will share information on the founding fathers.

FCSD Unveils First Draft of Budget

The first draft of the 2016-2017 Fulton school district budget in its earliest form shows a 1.97% increase from the previous year’s budget. In its draft form, schools officials ensure many changes to the budget will still take place before the April 12 tentative date of approval as the first draft is awaiting definite figures from the state. The draft budget expenditure total of $69,995,533 is up $1,345,472 from the 2015-2016 school year budget, an increase of 1.97%. However, the revenues draft brings forth $69,292,952 which totals a shortfall of $702,581 in revenues needed for the budget despite a local tax levy of $20,583,063, an increase within the limit at $88,451 from the previous year.

Gov. Cuomo Announces $450,000 In Grants To Grassroots Groups To Enhance State Parks, Historic Sites

The grants, funded through the Environmental Protection Fund, will be matched by nearly $242,000 in private and local funding which will support projects to strengthen friends groups and enhance public access and recreational opportunities at parks and historic sites across the state. Barclay Nominates Local Education Leader to Regents Board; Assembly Bypasses Oswego Educator

Assemblyman Will Barclay made the following statement today (March 8) after nominating Oswego resident John Sheffield to serve on the Board of Regents during a joint Senate and Assembly session in Albany.
