This past Saturday, a group of 12 volunteers hand-pulled the invasive water chestnuts from the Battle Island area of the Oswego River. The establishment of water chestnut can result in large floating mats of vegetation that “clog” aquatic habitats and limit the penetration of sunlight into the water column, impeding the growth of native plants and ultimately disrupting the food web.

The New York State Police in Fulton are investigating an Armed Robbery that occurred on Thursday (July 30) at approximately 10:44 p.m. at the Kwik Fill located at 7559 State Route 104 in the town of Oswego.
