The Oswego County Land Bank board meeting scheduled for Friday, Sept. 15 has been cancelled. The Board will meet at its next regularly scheduled meeting at 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 20.

Onondaga County Sheriff’s Pistol Permit Office Will Be At The Syracuse Gun Show This Weekend At The Fairgrounds.

Once again, this year the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office Pistol Permit Unit will have their table set up at the Syracuse Guns Show at the NYS Fairgrounds Center of Progress Building in Geddes to help answer questions and get newly purchased firearms on permits. The Gun Show will run Saturday September 16, 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday September 17, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

On September 13, 2023 at approximately 1:43 a.m., a City of Fulton Police Officer conductd a vehicle and traffic stop for traveling the wrong way down a one-way street in the City.

First Report Of EEEV, More WNV Found In Oswego County

New York State Department of Health informed the Oswego County Health Department today that three mosquito pools (samples) have tested positive for the Eastern equine encephalitis virus (EEEV) for the first time this year. They were found in Albion, Constantia and West Monroe.

SUNY Chancellor Announces Major Expansion Of National Student Success Model To Improve Student Support, Retention, And Completion

During a meeting with the State University of New York Board of Trustees, SUNY Chancellor John B. King, Jr. announced the major expansion of a national model of academic and wraparound support to help students succeed toward graduation. Beginning this spring, 25 SUNY campuses will replicate the City University of New York (CUNY) Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP), which dramatically increases associate degree completion, and Accelerate, Complete, and Engage (ACE), which is the baccalaureate version of ASAP.

Two Fulton Residents Arrested In Cocaine Seizure By Oswego County Drug Task Force

A recent multi-month investigation led by the Oswego County Drug Task Force into cocaine sales and possession within Oswego County resulted in the seizure of over 25 ounces of cocaine following the execution of search warrants at two locations in the City of Fulton on July 13, 2023.

College Rivals Reunite For Local Operetta

In an extraordinary twist of fate that seems straight out of a classic opera plot, Kevin Siembor and Matthew Fleming, opera performers who last shared the stage twenty years ago, have reignited their on-stage rivalry in the upcoming comedic operetta “The 1812 Underture.” Their journey began at SUNY Fredonia in 2000, where they not only nurtured their musical talents but also developed a spirited, friendly competition. Now, two decades later, they play bitter rivals in a comic operetta set to debut inside Historic Fort Ontario, on September 22nd and 23rd at 6:30 p.m.

AAA: Gas Prices Up Two Cents

Today’s national average price for a gallon of gasoline is $3.83, up two cents from last Monday. One year ago, the price was $3.72. The New York State average is $3.89, no change from a week ago. A year ago, the NYS average was $3.90. AAA Western and Central New York (AAA WCNY) reports the following averages:
