In about 12 minutes Monday night Oswego Mayor Randy Bateman highlighted the accomplishments of the last 12 months – and looked forward to the challenges of the next 12. The city overcame a lot of challenges and hopes to continue making positive strides this year, he said.
The occasion was a breakfast meeting between school district officials from around the county and some of the state lawmakers who represent them. The students were not invited, but showed up to seize the opportunity to lobby directly for help to keep their sports, music and arts.
Aaron Callahan is headed to Washington, DC later this month to attend the National Young Leaders Conference. Canale’s Restaurant will help him raise funds for the trip on March 22. Also, Assemblyman Will Barclay will honor Aaron next month.
