The Literacy Coalition of Oswego County (LCOC) recent “Dream Big: Read,” event at Fairgrieve Elementary School, Fulton, was also host to awards for the Oswego County Library Council (OCLC) and Assemblyman William Barclay’s summer reading programs
The College will use the money to help cover the costs of training and planning time for faculty and campus leaders to create developmental learning communities. Learning communities create a cohort of students who are enrolled in the same course or courses and often focus on a common reading or the same major theme across a variety of academic disciplines.
This class is taught by an experienced instructor certified by the U. S. Sailing Association and is a community service available to youth ages 9-17 throughout Central New York.
Students in Toni Pugliano’s Science, Society and You class at Altmar-Parish-Williamstown (APW) High School have continued to care for and nurture the community garden begun last year when the APW Educational Foundation awarded a grant to the science department that covered the initial start-up costs.
