“December Excitement†at the H. Lee White Marine Museum
The H. Lee White Marine Museum, which is located at the end of Oswego’s West First Street Pier, is the place to be this month as they once again present “December Excitement.†Hours of operation are 1-5pm daily until the 23rd, and the Museum’s ‘Treasure Chest†gift shop is open to browse for free during those hours.

The Oswego Children’s Theater to Present a Second Weekend of “Babes in Toyland”
“Babes in Toyland†was written by the famous Victor Herbert with Lyrics by Glenn McDonough. The music includes such favorites as “Toy Landâ€Â, “I Can’t Do the Sumâ€Â, “Never mind Bo Peep†and “The March of the Wooden Soldiersâ€Â. The script for the Production was adapted for the modern stage by Lyndsie Jones and Wayne and Kelly Mosher.

The Oswego Children’s Theater’s “Babes in Toyland†Opens Friday at St Mary’s
The Oswego Children’s Theaters final production of the year will bring back memories of childhood, as they Present “Babes in Toylandâ€Â, with music Victor Herbert and script and book by Glenn MacDonough. “Babes in Toyland†Is perhaps best remembered as the basis for the classic Laurel and Hardy film “March of the Wooden Soldiers†which was a holiday staple for many years.

Christmas Music Concert Dec. 11
The West Baptist Church will host an evening of Christmas music on Friday, December 11th at 7pm. The concert will feature the church’s Handbell Choir in a program of several familiar Christmas carols as well as the vocal ensemble Praise 7 and the newly restored pipe organ.

Christmas Cantata To Be Performed In Red Creek
This cantata tells the Christmas story using the idea of Christ as the Morning Star as a recurring theme throughout. Many familiar carols such as “Joy to the World†as well as lesser known carols are combined to tell the story. The choir will conclude the cantata with “For Unto Us a Child is Born†from Handel’s “Messiah.â€Â

West Baptist Church Holds Advent Concert
The concert will start with a Thanksgiving piece followed by the Advent chorale “Wachet Auf†and then moving to such holiday favorites as “Hark the Herald Angels Sing†and “Silent Night.†The concert will feature the brass ensemble separately and together and is an excellent way to spend the first Sunday of Advent.

College Community Orchestra to Offer Seasonal Concert Dec. 10
Under the direction of Juan Francisco La Manna of SUNY Oswego’s music department, the orchestra also will perform Haydn’s Symphony No. 104, the London symphony.
