Higgins Case Moved To December

The Fulton code enforcement officer who was arrested Nov. 3 for allegedly skimming money she received for rental permits and contractor licenses will return to court next month. Rita Higgins, 57, of West Fourth Street South, Fulton, was scheduled to make an appearance in Fulton City Court Friday. The case has been adjourned to Dec. 12.

Police Arrest Two For Tampering With Food

Fulton police concluded their investigation into a complaint of food tampering at a local restaurant, making two arrests. Philip F. Dunbar, 30, and Jeremy M. Hankey, 25, both of Fulton, were charged with single counts of third-degree criminal tampering for allegedly spitting into food that was served to a police officer at McDonalds in Fulton. Both are due back in Fulton City Court Dec. 4.

Catholic Charities Distributes Thanksgiving Food Baskets

Staff and volunteers at Catholic Charities of Oswego County were busy preparing for the annual Thanksgiving food basket giveaway. Despite a downturn in donations Catholic Charities’ food pantry will provide more than 150 families with all the fixings for a complete Thanksgiving meal courtesy.
