Do This Saturday: Kick Off Hannibal’s Anniversary

The Hannibal Beautification Committee has been busy designing new banners in celebration of the village's sesquicentennial anniversary. The banner depicts the downtown area around 1860 when people came into town with their horse and buggies. The 10 new banners will be hung this weekend to help kick-off the official celebration. Pictured from left inside the gazebo are Rosey Emmons, Ann Mahaney, Diane Miller, and Karen White. In front are Virginia Wilbur, Dawn Greenleaf, and Sandy Blanchard. Missing from photo are Sharon Moody and Lynn Waloven.

Hannibal turns 150 on Saturday and will throw a party to celebrate.

The village begins its sesquicentennial celebration Saturday afternoon by unveiling a new book on the village’s history.  The book is called “Pictorial History of Hannibal, NY” by town and village historian and former Mayor Lowell Newvine.
