White’s Lumber in Pulaski was destroyed in a fire that required scores of firefighters from departments from all over Oswego County.

Large Fire Strikes White’s Lumber in Pulaski
A huge fire appears to be destroying White’s Lumber on Route 13 in Pulaski.
At least seven fire departments have been called to the scene of the blaze. Route 13 is closed through the area.

Pulaski Fire Victim Identified
A 68-year-old man, who had been residing at the motel for about a week, was pronounced dead at the scene. According to investigators, the fire started in the victim’s room, near a portable electric heater.

Fire Hits Pulaski Motel
UPDATE: Fire overnight did damage to the Fish On! motel in downtown Pulaski.
One person is said to have died.
The fire was reported at about 4:00 a.m., officials said. It took more than an hour to bring it under control.
Route 11 through the village is shut down because of the fire.

County’s Last P&C Could Become A Price Chopper Soon
There’s only one P&C Foods store left in Oswego County, after the chain closed its Fulton and Oswego stores in the last year. The store is in Pulaski, and there’s news that the store and 21 others could be sold to Price Chopper as part of P&C’s bankruptcy.

Item Drive for Troops a Success: Pulaski VFW and Ladies Auxiliary Send Stockings Full of Gifts to Iraq, Afghanistan and Africa
Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,Iâ€â€Pulaski) today thanked the community for donating to the annual item drive for troops held by the Pulaski Veterans of Foreign Wars and Ladies Auxiliary. The organizations ensure that several hundred deployed military and their families receive Christmas presents, stockings and decorated Christmas trees in time for the holidays. For the past three years, Assemblyman Barclay’s office has assisted in the drive.

Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 6:30. Come to Lura Sharp Elementary from 6-6:25 to begin viewing before the auction starts.
Proceeds will be raised for the Lura Sharp Elementary and Pulaski Middle School Odyssey of the Mind teams.

Police Arrest Man Charged With Sexually Abusing Blindfolded Girl
Sheriff’s Deputies on Friday arrested Walter C. Belden, 28, of 3839 Port St., Pulaski. He is charged with first degree rape, first degree criminal sexual act, sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. All but the endangering charge are felonies.
