The Oswego Corps of The Salvation Army continues to celebrate next week. It will hold a community breakfast on Nov. 9 at 8 a.m. at The American Foundry, 246 W. Seneca St., to celebrate 125 years of service in Oswego.
The Oz Roller Girls, the community’s new flat-track women’s roller derby league, has blocked out time to address a number of community causes, from hunger to veteran support to animal welfare. Leading up to their first bout, the team mounted a food drive to support the Oswego Salvation Army food services that help hungry families in the community.
The next Salvation Army Guest Chef dinner will feature Minetto United Methodist Church members serving up a turkey dinner with all the fixings.
The employees and staff at Sunrise Residential Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Oswego made the holidays a little brighter this year for the local community and Oswego Salvation Army with their annual holiday canned food drive, according to Sharon Kirk, Director of Recreation Therapy at Sunrise.
The Oswego Salvation Army is hosting the final Guest Chef Dinner of the year on Dec. 1 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Computer literacy, financial budgeting and job interviewing are skills some Oswego residents may take for granted. However, those who never learned these skills, but would like to, will soon get a hand from the Oswego Salvation Army.
The Oswego Salvation Army will be hosting the next Guest Chef Dinner on Oct. 13, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the newly refurbish Citadel at 73 W. Second St.
