Cold Case Tuesday: The New York State Police continue to investigate a missing persons case from 1997
The New York State Police continue to investigate the missing person case of 62-year-old John Sapienza. Sapienza has been missing since February 24, 1997, from St. Johnsville, NY. A friend reported him missing on February 27 after receiving a phone call from Sapienza’s wife that his vehicle was found abandoned in a grocery store parking lot in New Hartford, NY. A manager confirmed the van had been there for about four weeks.

Today (Sept. 19) New York State Police officials announced the continuation of an upstate program to enhance state and local law enforcement’s capabilities to detect and interdict radiological material before it can be used in a weapon by would-be terrorists. The training exercise has been dubbed “Operation Steelhead.”

State Police in Hastings are attempting to locate a Missing 15 year-old female from the Village of Parish.
Kristen Rae Bates is described as 5’6″ tall, 150 lbs., with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. She has a small scar on her right chin bone. Kristen was last seen on July 17,2009 at approximately 8:30am at her residence on Ryder Avenue in the Village of Parish, Oswego County.
Information from interviews is that she may be somewhere in the Liverpool area.

Hastings Crash Kills Motorcycle’s Driver
The crash happened at about 7:20 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Route 11 and Hastings Transfer Station Rd. in Hastings.
