Oswego County Head Start Preschool will be holding an Open Enrollment Day on Thursday, January 28th from 10 am to 2 pm. Head Start is a preschool program for 3- and 4-year-old children with the primary goal of promoting school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children. The program includes nutritious meals and snacks, encourages parent involvement, and family support.
Adopted in 2003 to guide the city’s economic and community development through 2023, the plan has already paid some dividends. However, a group of community leaders has been looking at the plan to see what’s been done, what needs to be started and what else can be done to improve the Port City.
At the regular Parish Town Board meeting on Thursday, December 17 several people were recognized for their contributions and or years of service. Former Parish Town Supervisor’s William Scriber and Frank House joined Parish Town Supervisor Steve Stelmashuck in the presentation to Carl Dayger who served under all three.
