State Education Department: Graduation Rates Show Improvement

UPDATED: The New York State Education Department reports that statewide four-year graduation rates are up from where they were two years ago. In Fulton, four-year graduation rates were below the statewide average for the group of students who graduated in 2007. Five of nine school districts in Oswego County saw graduation rates above the state average.

‘No Guarantees’ For Fate of Church, Member Says

With the first serious buyer on the line, Jan Mileskey said he is hopeful that business plans for the former First Congregational United Church of Christ property will more forward. Even if the sale to Family Video Store falls through, Mileskey stressed that there are no guarantees that the church will be maintained as part of the Fulton community once the property is turned over to the state UCC conference.

Fulton Secures Additional Small Cities Funding

Residents Debate Business Plan For Church Property; Zone Change Tabled

A zone change request that was made as a prerequisite to new business development along West First Street sparked considerable objection Tuesday evening from residents of the Fulton community.
