Kissing Spine basically means, the vertebrae are pinching, the gap between them closes and they start to pinch or rub. The pain caused by Kissing Spine makes it impossible for weight to be placed on the horse. If this procedure continues to prove successful it means a lot of horses could be treated and find forever homes.
Every chair was full recently at the Sterling Nature Center as a large group gathered for the center’s semi-annual poetry reading. The afternoon included readings by featured poets as well as an open mic where members of the community could sign up to read.
Volunteers could be spotted hauling trash bags all over Fulton on Saturday morning in celebration of Mayberry Day. The day is a collaboration between the city of Fulton and the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce’s Fulton Project Bloom committee. Its mission, to clean up the debris in the city left over from the long winter months.
Fulton residents may have noticed construction vehicles outside the former Nestles complex along Fay Street. According to Mayor Ron Woodward, the most recently constructed building, which was built in 1995, is being taken down. The current owner of site, Ed Palmer, has received permits from the city of Fulton for this project.
This year, Fulton Savings Bank will sponsor Rob Garrett, King of Diamonds, a Neil Diamond Tribute. on the Community Center stage on May 25 starting at 8 p.m. On May 25, Oswego County’s largest parade will move down Broadway, from east to west, starting at 10 a.m. and commentated by Tom Owens from B104.7 and Zach Menter, the parade chairman.
A 2005 Nissan Sentra operated by a Betsy Maslen of Liverpool attempted to turn left onto the Interstate 81 South onramp and failed to yield the right of way, according to deputies. The motorcycle was a 2004 Yamaha Road Star operated by a Robert E. Gale of Sharyl Drive in Central Square and was traveling eastbound at the time of the accident.
The student government of Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Junior/Senior High School is sponsoring a pre-prom mock DWI scenario on May 10, beginning at approximately 9:30 a.m. The scene will be set up on County Route 22 between the APW Junior/Senior High School and Elementary School.
At about 8:20 a.m.May 3, the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate the death of a 45-year-old man in a logging accident. It occurred on Cook Road in the town of Constantia. Jerald Platt, of Camden, was logging in the area when a tree he was cutting fell on him, deputies report. Platt succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
