Harborfest 2008 – Is Just Hours Away
Oswego’s huge summer festival gets under way tonight in Breitbeck Park. Performances will be held at the NRG Family Stage in Washington Square Park, the Budweiser Rock Stage at the Port Authority, the Veteran’s Stage on West River Walk, and the Labatt Lakeview Stage in Breitbeck Park. Many other events will take place all around the Port City.

Fulton Man Denied Bail, Faces 8th State Prison Term
A parolee from Fulton with a long list of past crimes is sitting in jail today after a judge said “no bail” to Rhys Marks. He’s accused of robbing a Mattydale hair salon at knifepoint and leading police on a chase. This is marks 49th arrest. He’s facing his 15th conviction and 8th stay in state prison.

Teens interested in exploring health careers have until July 25 to sign up for the Medical Academy of Science and Health, or M.A.S.H. Camp, at A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital in Fulton.

Fulton, Firefighters Start Negotiations
The city of Fulton sat down with the Fulton Firefighters Association for the first time to discuss a new labor agreement Monday. Negotiations with the union have been delayed because of special circumstances required to fill a vacancy in the department.

Hannibal Seals Contract With Faculty Association
Teachers and other professional staff in the Hannibal Central School District will begin the 2008-09 school year under a new labor agreement. The Board of Education voted this month to accept a new four-year contract with the Hannibal Faculty Association.
