History Piece Returns To Rightful Place At Powers Gym
In 1957 the David Powers Gymnasium at the Frederick Leighton Elementary School was officially opened. To remember that special event the basketball used in the first game was placed on display in the trophy case. Oswego High School technology teacher Warren Shaw accepted the challenge and generously donated his time to refurbish the basketball.

Oswego Sports Wrapup – Swimmers, Basketball And Hockey Win And Strong Individual Efforts
Drake Becksted shattered pool records while boys’ hockey and girls’ basketball prepped for post season play. The OHS varsity basketball team wound up the season with a win as did boys’ and girls’ jayvee fives. Meanwhile, the girls’ track team and wrestling team had solid individual performances including an upcoming trip to the state tournament for bowler Jamie Cliff.

Hannibal Holds Onto Senior Night Win
A strong second half from Hannibal junior Zach Welling helped seal a 52-46 victory over Cazenovia on senior night. Jake Shortself helped build a 12 point lead in the first half. But it was Welling who had nine of his 14 in the second half to carry the Warriors Friday night in the Hannibal High Gymnasium.

Plattsburgh built a 14-point lead in the first 4:24 that the Oswego State men’s basketball was never able to recover from in a 81-66 loss at Max Ziel Gymnasium on Friday night.
