March 2010 Was Warmer Than Normal

An Easter Tree blossoms in the warm March weather on East Albany  Street in Oswego.

The average temperature last month was 6.2 degrees higher than average. However, that is only No. 7 on the list of all time warmest Marches since 1844. Flowers and trees all over were starting to pop out.

Winter 2009-10 Was Rather Mundane

Santa’s Packing Up His Sleigh

Brooklyn Saternow receives a big hug from Santa Claus on Wednesday evening. He welcomed hundreds of youngsters at Oswego High School where a huge crowd turned out for the Kingsford Park School's 'Polar Express' Pajama Party.

Temperatures near 40 and rain showers will have little impact on Santa’s sojourn Christmas Eve. A white Christmas this year is as certain as a visit from the Jolly Old Elf.

Fall 2009 Was A Tad Warmer Than Normal

<p>The above average warmth this fall made for some pleasant days to fish in the Oswego River in September and October as well.</p>As we welcome winter on Monday, we look back at a warm autumn. It was also very dry and – snow free. The other four times we were so snow-free in the fall the winter wound up with less than 100 inches of snow. Will history repeat itself?
