It has been said that small businesses are the backbone of the community. That distinction is evident to the United Way of Greater Oswego County as well, as the support they receive from small businesses plays a vital role in the success of its annual campaign.
The United Way of Greater Oswego County will host the fifth annual Stone Soup Luncheon on Nov. 18 at St. Joseph’s Parish Center.
With the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s Annual Campaign under way, resource development director Lois Luber has been busy visiting area businesses and organizations to help them with their employee campaigns in support of the United Way.
Excellus BlueCross BlueShield was a major sponsor of the event that officially got the campaign under way.
With the theme of Live United, Live Well, the United Way of Greater Oswego County kicked-off its 2010 / 2011 annual campaign during a breakfast held Sept. 15 at the American Foundry.
Novelis got the ball rolling – donating a check for $5,000 and another for $1,000 from activities they had under way prior to the official campaign kick off. This year’s theme is: ‘Live United Live Well’ with a campaign goal of $800,000.
