The USTA Tennis Program teaches basic tennis skills and give the kids a chance to get outside and exercise, said the program’s coordinator. A carnival was held to give them a chance to show off what they’ve learned.
The YMCA’s free fun day attracted dozens of youngsters recently. They offered a variety of activities and games for youngsters up to about middle school age.
OK, you can bring your teddy bears, but this year they probably should wear grass skirts. The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau and Oswego Harborfest will host a Treasure Island Luau on Sunday. The event will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Elks Lodge on West Fifth Street.
Dozens of youngsters enjoy some winter fun at the summer camp. Sliding, playing hockey, and snow shoe trips around the park were among the most popular activities.
The deteriorated basketball court and lodge at the camp are considered safety hazards by the state. The Youth Bureau has funds to repair the court.
